[Objective] To define the signs and clinical application range of Shuanghuanglian formula.[Method] Combine with TCM theory,discuss the function and clinical application range of Shuanghuanglian from herbs,febrile disease and 6 channels.[Result] Its main components are honeysuckle,scutellaria and fructus,mainly used in clearing heat and toxin,without clearing wind and superficial.Viewing it can clear wind and superficial is because of misreading Yinqiao Powder;Shuanghuanglian shall point to signs of excessive heat inside,not fit for superficial signs of cold in the beginning.[Conclusion] Shuanghuanglian only clears internal heat,not fit for early cold in clinic;it is proper to clear wind and superficial.
