Based on the analysis of the relationship between futures market function and the cash market conditions, this paper reviewed the functions of price discovery and risk aversion, exploited the cash market conditions for wellfunctioning of futures market, including the development of cash market and its competition. The results of theoretical and empirical researches showed that Chinese futures market of agricultural products developed under the background of imperfect cash market, this is the key factor which influences futures market to function.
