Copper-catalyzed condensation reaction of amines with 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds is described. The condensation reaction of amines with 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds proceeded smoothly in the presence of copper chloride （CuCI） catalyst at room temperature in tetrahydrofuran （THF） to produce enaminones in range of 75%-98% yields. Sixteen kinds of enami- nones 3a-3p were prepared, and the 3p is an unknown product.
