Chinese herbs as a new non - polluted green feed additives which have no residue, and non - toxic side effects characteristic, have been the research hotspot in the feed additives now. This article describes the classification and characteristics of Chinese herbs as a kind of feed additives, and their application in animal pro- duction. We discuss the problems of Chinese herbs as feed additives which are applied in livestock and poultry breeding; and predict the future development of Chinese herbs as a feed additive.
