3,5-Dicyano-2,4,6-trimethylpyridine is a promising synthetic precursor for novel optoelectronic functional materiels. In this paper, 3,5-dicyano-2,4,6-tfimethylpyridine was prepared in high yield by photoinduced aromatization of 1,4-dihydro-3,5-dicyano-2,4, 6-tfimethylpyridine in CCh solution.
