The ＂3.11＂ Tohoku earthquake affects one of the major Japanese agricultural regions.There are tremendous losses in the local agriculture,forestry and fishery.According to the existing disaster response mechanisms in Japan,the compensation is funded by multiple sources,among which is the ＂agricultural disaster compensation system＂ that is established basing on ＂Agricultural Disaster Compensation Law of Japan＂.This paper analyzes the earthquake impacts on Japanese agriculture,and the background,the organizational structure,the development and the effects of Japanese agricultural disaster compensation system.
