A safe and secure tourist environment is essential to the development of the tourism industry and the economy of a city.Taking Xiamen as an example,a questionnaire survey was conducted on the tourists to Xiamen.Data were collected and thetourist^assessment index on the safety&security of Xiamen was analyzed.In addition,the research analyzed the tourist^perceptionof safety&security risk of urban tourism and the sources of risk.According to the safety&security demands revealedfrom tourist’s perception,mechanisms were put forward for safety&security risk management in tourist cities.
