In an infrared imaging guidance simulation system, its scene generator is a vital part, By virtue of binary optical technique, an infrared collimating optical system suitable for the infrared scene generator with 8-14 μm wavelength range is designed. Its field angle and entrance pupil diameter are 4°and 100 mm respectively. The designed system benefits from the specialities of binary optical elements and approaches diffraction limitation by use of only two germanium lenses.
