Freshwater crab, Sinopotamon henanense, were acutly exposed to the waterborne Cd^2+ and the Cd^2+ levels were examined. The crabs were divided into three treated groups and one control. The samples were exposed to the Cd^2+ solution for 1 day, 3 days and 5 days, then were dissected lively. Cadmium accumulation in gills, hepatopancreas, muscle and ovary were examined with flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry method. The results showed that Cd^2+ was selectively accumulated in different organs. The accumulation of each organ decreased in turn. gill 〉 hepatopancrea 〉 muscle 〉 ovary. The bioaccumulation of Cd^2+ in S. henanense had the concentration-effect relationship, ie, the more the concentration increased, the more the bioaccumulation was. But the different time-effect relationships about the bioaccumulation of the S. henanense were found because of the different organs.
