Two methods of three dimensional geostress measurement based on hydraulic reopening tests of preexisting fractures are presented. One method uses hydraulic reopening test data of preexisting fractures, and another uses simultaneously hydraulic reopening test data of preexisting fractures and conventional hydro-fracturing data of intact borehole sections. Application results of presented method are also briefly addressed with comparison to those from the hydro-fracturing test of three crossed boreholes.
