Renal interstitial fibrosis(RIF)is a pathological process characterized by a large accumulation of extracellular matrix replacing normal renal interstitium and renal tubular structure. Most of the chronic kidney diseases have a common pathological process when developing renal failure, and RIF is the end stage. It is regulated by various cytokines and multiple signaling pathways; the cross-talk between key signaling pathways and their joint action result in the final changes. Deeply understanding of the cross-talk between signaling pathways may have important implications for further revealing the molecular mechanism of RIF. This paper review the key signaling pathways in RIF, so as to provide reference for research of molecular mechanisms of RIF.
