英文摘要：

According to the concept and connotation of new manufacturing industry, and on the basis of emphasizing balanced development of economy, science and resource ＆ environment, the evaluation index system of China＇s Manufacturing Development Index （CMDI） is constructed. A modified model of Exponential Effective Function is used to calculate the evaluation value, and the overall development situation of China＇s manufacturing industry during 2003 to 2009 is evaluated. Research re- suits show that CMDI could objectively reflect the actual development situation for every aspect of China＇s manufacturing industry. CMDI has certain reference value to scientifically evaluating the comprehensive development level of China＇s manufacturing industry and analyzing the weak links in development.
