Based on the perspective of Tencent QQ groups, we search the QQ groups which connect with two cities in Northeast China. We study the characteristic of urban network connections and the urban hierarchy structure by social network analysis. The conclusion is that： （1）the urban connection network density of Tencent QQ groups is 63.81% in Northeast China. Most cities have QQ groups network connection with each other. （2）From the urban connection objects, urban network connection characteristic of four cities including Shenyang, Dalian, Changchun and Harbin belong to all partner type; The characteristic of Daqing, Jinzhou and other 8 cities belong to the type of many partner type; The characteristic of Qiqihaer, Siping and other 13 cities belong to ordinary partner type; The characteristic of Yiehun, Baishan and other 3 cities belong to few partner type. （3） From the total amount of QQ groups connection, there is an obvious urban hierarchy in Northeast China. Shenyang belongs to the large regional center type and it is the connection center of Northeast China. There are four cities including Qitaihe belong to the edge city type. The hierarchy of other cities is between the two types and they belong to 5 different hierarchies.
