From the micro-view of map, taking GIS as the platform, through the variation coefficient calculation of thiessen polygon area （CV）, combined with population density map and terrain model, this paper analyzed the spatial distribution characteristics of Lingao County residents. The results show that 11 towns belong to clustered distribution The correlation between CV value and the nearest neighbor index was calculated, indicating that the two methods have a significant negative correlation. Therefore, CV value can effectively express the spatial distribution characteristics of points. The result can provide decision-making basis for reasonable land use.
