The study focused on optimization of growing conditions of new nonlinear optical crystal BABF. Flux selection, preparation process of starting materials and optimization of other growing parameters were discussed in the paper. The high-quality BABF crystal with sizes up to 40 × 30 × 12 mm3 had been successfully grown by the middle-seeded solution growth technique, and the optical homogeneity of the crystal is △n ≈ 4. 048 × 10^-6/cm. The growing conditions are as follows: B2O3-LiF-NaF system as fluxes, [ 001 ] seed orientation, rotation rate 20-40 r/min, cooling rate 1-5 ℃/d.
