The phenological characteristics in different populations of T. iliensis and T. altaica were observed for two consecutive years. The main results were as follows： all populations of two species germinated and grew rapidly, and the reproductive growth period accounted for more than two thirds of annual development cycle which ranged from sixty to ninety days. Therefore, both of species belonged to ephemeroid plants escaping from drought; the plants in most populations flowered in four to nine days and there were no obvious phenological differences within population in two years; however, differences existed in annual development cycle and main phenophase in the same year among populations; phenophase among populations of T. iliensis were related to altitude factors.
