Circuit defects exist in linkage synthesis. A new method for identifying circuits and their defects of a spatial single-loop linkage with four closures, namely the dead-point method, was proposed in the paper. The algorithm for automatically identifying the circuits and their defects was proposed, realizing computer identification. Finally instances were presented to explain the principles of the method.
