自1955年Thomlinson和Gray对163例手术切除支气管癌的标本切片进行显微镜下观察,发现在正常增殖的细胞和坏死的细胞两者之间,有一层厚度为15~20μm的氧张力较低的乏氧细胞,从而证实恶性肿瘤内存在乏氧细胞以来,众多研究表明,乏氧细胞不仅能增加肿瘤对放化疗的抵抗作用,而且使得肿瘤具有更强的侵袭性,容易发生远处转移。如果能够准确地监测肿瘤的氧合状态,以指导治疗方案的制定和实施,将有助于提高肿瘤的治疗效果。
