The development and progress of Geomatics has gradually results in geographical Big Data. Nevertheless, it is in urgent need of the reformation ranging from the big data acquiring and processing to application together with fur-ther breakthroughs to tap data’s potential value as the Big Data Time requires. Specifically,this could be shown in typi-cal practice application of urban and rural planning as innovative ideas and methods in geographical Big Data bring great changes in the practice of regional planning.
