Due to its large band gap energy, TiO2 only can absorb UV light, which is less than 5% in solar spectrum. In the article, it is summarized in detail in the produce, characteristic and application of visible light photocatalyst TiO2. The recent research shows that the light absorption of titanium dioxide can be extended into visible light region by ion-doping, ion implantation and photosensitization methods.
