Through literature review, this paper introduces the social background, historical development and characteristics of ＂Two Families＂. On this basis, it also analyzes the family history of the ＂Two Families＂ cases in Nanlai Village of Hainan from the perspective of family strategy. The author holds that ＂Two Families＂ is a family strategy collectively chosen by early emigrants in South China under the framework of ＂cultural tradition＂ and ＂social structure＂.
