Thinking about self-identity was the most important heritage of the Enlightenment, it's also the central aspect on Judith Butler' s performativity. Butler explored the awakening of self-awareness in ways tracing the tradition of criticism from Immanuel Kant to Michel Foucault, and interrogating the human nature in Franz Kafka's works. But there is no insecure identity in Butler's genealogy. The paper argues that Butler offered twofold explaination to us- according to Hegel, self-identity was involved in the game between subject and language; and not only the consciousness but the body was the site to constrcct self-identity which be inspired by Michel Foucault.
