The development steps and process of a joystick controller based on AT90USB162 microprocessor are introduced. Hardware circuit of the joystick controller is given. The enumeration and communication processes between the HID device and the master are analysed during the start- up phase. The USB interface program and the controller ' s main program are designed. Basic func- tions of the joystick are realized successfully through debugging. The joystick bears the characteris- tics of flexibility in design and simplicity in operation.
