Taking Muyan Waterfront Scenery Belts for the research object and extracting the elevation contours from the roadside landscape alone the waterfront, this essay conducts fractal dimension and quantitative assessment to each elevation contours by the means of segmentation. This research shows that fractal dimension as an important index can be used to evaluate waterfront landscape elevation. Accordingly, this essay proposes relative suggestions for the shaping of elevation image at urban waterfront scenery from architectural forms, plant configuration and overall style.
