Phrynocephalus versicolor belongs to Agamidae, Phrynocephalus , Kaup. "spike" structure on scales of body, especially on the head was found under scanning electron microscope. These structures were much similar to the scale sensory organ founded on other Geckos and Iguanidae lizards. These organs were also measured in the experiment. Micro-ornamentation was examined on the exposed oberhautchen surface, including other part of head , dorsal, and ventral scales. All oberhautchen cells were flat and exhibited, there were no obvious surface features except occasional polygonal cell. The dirt shedding is not of key importance in animals living in desert.
