The pathogen, characteristics, pathogenic mechanism, infection cycle, occurrence regularity and damage symptom of cotton Verticillium wilt are expounded in the paper. The paper puts forward the strategy of protecting disease-free area first, planting resistant varieties and rational rotation in severe area and strengthening the field management, as well as combining with biological control and chemical control methods to effectively control infection and spread of pathogen, so as to provide certain theoretical basis for reducing the damage of cotton Verticillium wilt and improving yield and quality of cotton.

The pathogen, characteristics, pathogenic mechanism, infection cycle, occurrence regularity and damage symptom of cotton Verticillium wilt are expounded in the paper.
