The experiment on cutting propagation was carried out by using 1 or 2-year-old branches and different method to search the main factor which affects the rooting of Fraxinus griffithii. The result showed that the main influenced factor was hormone type, cuttings type and soak time were the next factor. The influence of hormone ＇ s concentration was lower. The rooting effect of 1-year-old saplings was better than those of 2-years-old. The best treatment of softwood cutting propagation was that using the middle part of 1-year-old branches as material, soaked the base for 10 seconds by ABT1 with the concentration of 500 mg/L. The rooting rate would reach over 60% after 60 days.
