The characteristics and the methods of automatic machine fault diagnosis are introduced in this paper An example is given to introduce the application of wavelet transform in automatic machine fault diagnosis The wavelet transform can be used to decompose and reconstructed automaton signals, as well as extract the signal envelope spectrum from the signals, and determine accurately and quickly whether the running states of automatic equipments are abnormal. The method is more effective than traditional methods
