The lemon eucalyptus oil as a starting material in this experiment, an alkali metal and an alkaline earth metal ion-exchanged BEA zeolite catalyst is prepared using a modified hydrochloric dealumination. In the modified BEA zeolite as catalyst and isopropanol as the hydrogen source, for a MPV reaction of ion-exchanged dealuminated zeolite modified lemon eucalyptus Zr-BEA in the synthesis of the main component of citronellal citronellol, then citronellol fractionated from the product under reduced pressure, and dried to give further purified citronellol containing small amounts of impurities.
