The ankyrin proteins contain ankyrin repeat motifs, which are found to be involved in many biological processes by mediating protein-protein interactions. One of the ankyrin family members, ANK20, is found expressing mainly in root, leaf and flower tissues by promoter activity analysis, which is consistent with the result achieved by RT-PCR. Moreover, GUS activity also reveals that ANK20 mainly expressed in mature root, leaf edge and stem of flower tissues. The subcellular localization analysis shows that ANK20 is nuclear-localised. These results provid a valuable clue to unveil the function of ANK20 gene.
