For overcoming the limitation of the Markov assumptions, the lifetime, corrective maintenance time and preventive maintenance time are all assumed to be with general distribution. Using the numerical advantage of discrete-time model, the transition of the system states is established, including the operational state, corrective maintenance state and preventive maintenance state. Considering preventive maintenance, the dependability D of the ADC model with general distribution is built. Numerical examples illustrate that this evaluation method is useful for choosing appropriate preventive repair cycle to improve system performance.
