From the viewpoint of information entropy , the increasing chain reflecting the intermix degree of population was dedueed and the feasibility of describing the intermix degree of population by information entropy was verified. The concept of intermix index was put forward, and it was found that intermix index was more convenient than the standard difference of multiple characters in describing intermix degree of population and the maneuverability of intermix index was verified by examples.
