Androgen is a kind of steroid hormone which has neuroprotective action. It can regulate content of neurotrophic factors, prevent oxidative damage and promote regeneration of axon. So, it has potential therapeutic effect for nerve injury diseases in central nervous system (CNS). Nogo is a kind of protein that can inhibit axon growth found in myelin of CNS and has a close correlation with anti-regeneration of central nerves. It has been proven that Nogo has strong axon growth inhibitory activity when it was cultivated in vitro. The study on effects of androgen and Nogo on CNS and their interactions is of important instructive significance for treatment of injury diseases in CNS.
