Acorus is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine with a variety of pharmacological and physiological role.Acorus contains a lot of compositions such as monoterpenes,sesquiterpenes,phenylpropanoids,quinones,alkaloids,organic acids,amino acids,sugars and etc.In this paper,chemical compositions and pharmacological actions of Acorus plants were discussed to provide proof for further research and development of Acorus.
