Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of major factors to death. A large number of people have paid increasing attention to change diet and lifestyle to reduce the risk of CVD. Bioactive pepfides can exert systematic or local effects in our body when they are absorbed in intestine and participating blood circulation. In this paper, a variety of bioactive peptides including antihypertensive (ACE inhibitory) peptides, antioxidant peptides, antithrombotic peptides, hypocholesterolemic and hypotriglyceridemic peptides, and antiobesity peptides with functions to cardiovascular health are reviewed, which will be helpful for the development of functional foods.
