Radical technological innovation is an important way for small technology-based new ventures＇ to catch up with and surpass big mature firms, and knowledge acquisition and application is the key of the success of radi-cal innovation. Firstly, the paper defined definition and characteristics of radical technological innovation and ana-lyzed the influencing mechanism of knowledge management to radical technological innovation from three angles of accelerating market development, compressing time and cost. From the perspective of knowledge management, it put forward innovation process generated by the fuzzy front end of creativity, research and development, pilot production, commercial, and the formation of new technical standards and analyzed the specific operation mecha-nism of each stage. Finally, the case of Netac developing flash disk is selected to demonstrate the process of radi-cal innovation for small technology-based new ventures.
