Long Term Evolution (LTE) system represents the very latest evolution of the UMTS standard. As a packet-only system, LTE has a brand new radio interface and an evolved architecture for both the access and the core network parts, whose spectrum efficiency is twice as large as HSDPA/HSUPA. This paper analyzes the main content of LTE system security, proposes the user security architecture of LTE system, describes the NDS architecture for IP-based networks and introduces the ESP protection in tunnel mode.
