为了解决各类便携式计算机中电源管理与功耗控制问题,延长电池续航时间,提出了一种适用于笔记本电脑嵌入式控制器(embedded controller,EC)的设计方法。分析了EC的功能特性,在此基础上从硬件设计与软件实现两个方面给出设计思路。介绍了软件的实现,结合模块化思想提出了主要模块的解决方法,从而提高数据读取及功能控制等多项关键性功能的效果与效率。功能测试验证了该设计的可行性与有效性。
To solve the power management and power consumption control and extend battery life in the portable computers effectively,a design method of the EC(embedded controller) used for modern notebook computer is presented.Firstly,the characters and functions of an EC are analyzed.The application design is proposed based on both hardware design and software implementation.Then the software architecture and realization are emphasized.Modular designed components are used to provide EC functions separately for easy maintenance so as to improve the veracity and efficiency of some crucial functions,including reading data,controlling function and others.Finally,basic functional tests results are presented,which verified the EC software is feasible and can be used in mobile products effectively.
