The acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs) are the cation channels activated by extraeellular acidosis. They have wide distribution in central and periphery nervous system. Six subunits of ASIC encoded by four genes have been cloned and their topological organization has been eoufinned. Their functions are related to feeling of pain and touch resulting from tissue acidosis. Recent years, Asies might play an important role in central system, having the effect in regulating the synaptie transmission of central nerve. The studies about regulation of subunit of ASICs had achieved great progresses, especially the finding of several specific ASICs blocker hod provide effective tool for the study of ASICs. This article reviews ASICs about its feature and some progresses on regulation.
