Cellular metallic materials and the related sandwich structures are of current aca- demic and industrial interest on functional and structural integrated design and application, be- cause of their excellent physical and mechanical properties. This paper reviews the mechanical properties of cellular materials at various strain rates. The dynamic response and energy absorp- tion of sandwich structures are also discussed.
