Antibiotics resistance of bacteria has accelerated around the world nowadays. More and more multidrug-resistant pathogens with increased pathogenicity emerged in clinic and caused much more problems in human health all over the world. Co-selection is one of the most important mechanisms that favor the persistence of the resistant pathogens and the selection of the most virulent and most resistant pathogens. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an important pathogen, capable of causing serious and often life-threatening infection in humans because of its resistance to many kinds of antibiotics as well as the large arsenal of virulence factors. P aeruginosa has joined the ranks of these most virulent and most resistant "superbug". The progress on the co-selection of resistance and virulence in P. aeruginosa and the sequent aoolication in clinic have been reviewed in this oaoer.
