With the development of the computer science and technology, the streaming media technology is used widely in VOD systems. Firstly the architecture of streaming media server system based on MMS is given, then the research on the performance of the media ondemand and broadcast system is conducted. The research is conducted on the connecting time and response time with the change of the number of users connecting to the server and the change of the size of physical memory and quantitative parameters is gotten.
