The stiffness characteristics research of multilayer wave shape steel plate rotor damper were carried out based on the Hertz contact analysis model. And put out the stiffness calculation method and a calculation example of the damper. Then a static experiment verified the theoretical research. The results show that the stiffness of the damper has little difference in different direction, and the thickness of steel plate has a nonlinear influence to the damper stiffness. 12figs., 8refs.
