In order to know the research and development of the WiTricity, an important innovative American corporation devoted to wireless charging techniques, the WiTricity＇ s patent applications were studied by using the patentomet- tic method. Based on the data of the USPTO database, the WiTricity＇ s patent layout and application strategies were investigated in terms of patent application amount, application type, technical difference, technical cooperation and assignee. The results show that the WiTricity Corporation＇ s technology is still in the phase of rapid growth and the corporation has the stong R＆D ability.
