Two endophytic strains YIM 56077 and YIM 56081 possessing great anticancer activity were isolated from plant sample of Rostellularia procumbens collected from Xishuangbana, Yunnan Province. Their morphology, physiological, biochemical characteristics, chemotaxonomy, and 16S rDNA sequence were analyzed. The 16S rDNA gene sequence of YIM 56077 and YIM 56081 exhibited maximum similarity with that of Bacillus flexus IFO15715^T, however, they were apparently different in growth and physiological and biochemical characteristics. They are two new strains potential of development in the genus of Bacillus.
