Satellite cell is an accessible adult stem-cell,which occupying a specialized niche beneath the basal laminae of myofiber.Although we have much more understanding about satellite cell according to the years’ researches, there is a lot of questions which are unknown. Recently, people focus on one question:how is satellite cell self-renewal regulated. According to the recent researches,researchers proposed two possible hypothesises of skeletal muscle satellite cell self-renewal and signalling pathway.The two possible hypothesises of skeletal muscle satellite cell self-renewal and signaling pathway were reviewed in this article.
