Calmodulin (CAM) plays an important role in the regulation of intracellular calcium (Ca^2+) concentration, Ca^2+/CaM/CaMK Ⅱ is one of the most important CaM signal transduction pathways in the cardiac myocytes. Ca^2+/CaM-dependent protein kinase Ⅱ (CaMK Ⅱ ) is an important serine / threonine protein kinase that directly affects the function and electrophysiological properties of myocardial cells. CaMK Ⅱ, as a component of the pathway, can increase the open frequency of calcium channel when excessively activated, and cause arrhythmia. Also, early in ischemia-reperfusion, increased CaMK Ⅱ activity may trigger reperfusion arrhythmias, CaMK Ⅱ antagonist has a protective effect on myocardial calcium overload injury.
