Four sequence motifs of methyl parathion hydrolase OPHC2 have been found by sequence local alignment, structure - based sequence alignment and the analysis of substitution patterns of residues. It has a representative α/β barrel structure consisting of eight parallel β - strands that formed the active sites connected by α - helices from its predicted structure. The four sequence motifs have been located in the eight parallel β- strands. When the sequence of an enzyme contains all the four motifs, it can be identified as methyl parathion hydrolase and the correct rates of identification are over 60%.
