Reported the crystal structure of 1,2-diethoxy carbonyl hydrazine. The title compound (C6H12N2O4) is characterized by X ray single-crystal diffraction. The crystal belongs to Monoclinic system, C2/c space group with α=13. 283 0 (18)A^°,b=8. 738 3 (12)A^°,c=7. 672 9 (10)A^°,β-97. 390 (2)A^°,V=883.2 (2)A^°3 ,Mr=176.18,Z=4. The two groups are almost parallel to each other and point to the same direction. Two molecules in the unit cell are linked by a pair of N-H…O hydrogen bonds between the amino H atom and the carbonyl oxygen atom to form a centrosymmetric dimer. The crystal structure is built up from a stacking of these dimers such that the inter-dimer interactions are mainly of van der Waals type.
