CMM （Capability Maturity Model） has been used worldwide as the criteria of the development ability of the software company. So this paper will use the attribute simplification and the rule of classification of rough set to analyze the key process areas of CMM and select the most suitable areas for the company. It can supply a directory for the resource-restricted companies to improve their processes.
